The LSC and ASC systems actively control the length and alignment of the optical cavities in relation to the "on resonance" condition. The ASC and LSC differ in that data for the servos is collected in both the end stations and the vertex. The ASC, like the LSC, is a highly distributed multi-input multi-output (MIMO) servo control system. The LSC photodetectors, ASC wavefront sensors (WFS), and Quadrant photodetectors (QPDX, QPDY) are depicted in Figure 1 in relation to the interferometer optical components.
Figure 4 depicts the alignment control signal paths from the ASC wavefront sensor photodetectors (WFS) to the interferometer optics.
